This Privacy Policy explains how AppMaven Studio ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use Sleep Sounds: White Noise (the "App"). The App is a white noise, sleep sounds, relaxation, breathing, and sleep timer app.
The App is designed to work without a user account and without an AppMaven Studio cloud account. Most app activity, such as your selected sounds, favorite mixes, timer settings, and sleep entries, is stored locally on your device. The App also uses third-party services, including Google AdMob and Google Play services, which may collect and process data as described below.

2. Information We Collect and Use
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The App may store the following information on your device so that the App can remember your preferences and provide its core features:
- Selected sleep sounds, volume levels, and the last active sound session.
- Favorite sound mixes that you save inside the App.
- Sleep timer settings, including timer length and fade-out preferences.
- Sleep entries you choose to create, such as date, sleep quality score, hours slept, sounds used, timer duration, and optional notes.
- App settings such as language, haptic feedback, reduced animations, keep-screen-on preference, notification preferences, and display preferences.
- Onboarding state, session count, first install or first launch state, review prompt state, and similar app-use settings.
- Temporary rewarded-ad unlocks, such as the premium sound or scene unlocked and its expiration time.
- Purchase status, such as whether the App has recorded that you have unlocked the ad-free or premium version.
This local information is used to make the App work correctly, restore your preferences, play your selected sounds, show your saved mixes, run timers, display sleep history inside the App, and provide premium or rewarded unlock behavior. We do not operate a separate AppMaven Studio server that receives this local sleep, favorite, timer, or settings data.
Advertising and Google AdMob
The App uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show ads, including app open ads, native ads, and rewarded ads. Google AdMob may collect, use, and share information such as your IP address, advertising ID or other device identifiers, app interactions, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and information used to estimate general location. This information may be used by Google and its partners for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service improvement.
Rewarded ads are optional. If you choose to watch a rewarded ad, the App uses the ad completion result to temporarily unlock certain premium sounds or scenes. The temporary unlock state is stored locally on your device.
Consent for Personalized Ads
In regions where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App may show a Google consent message before requesting ads. This message may ask whether you consent to personalized advertising, ad measurement, storing or accessing information on your device, and related purposes. You may be able to accept, reject, or manage your choices through the Google consent form. If you do not consent, the App may show non-personalized or limited ads, or ads may be restricted depending on Google's services and legal requirements.
In-App Purchases
The App may offer a premium or ad-free purchase through Google Play Billing. Purchase processing, payment information, receipts, refunds, and payment security are handled by Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details. The App stores purchase entitlement status locally so that premium features can remain available after purchase or restore.
Notifications and Media Playback
The App may request notification permission to show media playback controls, sleep or bedtime reminders, streak reminders, or Night Dim reminders. These notifications are scheduled and displayed on your device. The App may also use your device time zone to schedule reminders at the correct local time. The App may show the name of the current sound or mix in the media playback notification.
Contact and Support
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address, name, message content, and any information you choose to include. We use this information to respond to your request, provide support, and keep records needed to manage our communication with you.
Reviews, Sharing, and External Links
The App may let you open Google Play to rate or review the App, share the App through your device share sheet, or contact us by email. These actions are handled by your device, Google Play, your email app, or the app you choose for sharing. Their own privacy policies apply to information you provide to them.
3. Android Permissions Used by the App
The App may request or use the following Android permissions:
- Internet: used for ads, Google Play services, and external network features required by third-party services.
- Notifications: used for media playback notifications and optional reminders, where supported by your Android version.
- Foreground service and media playback: used to continue audio playback and show playback controls while the App is in the background.
- Wake lock: used only when needed to support playback or keep-screen-on behavior selected in the App.
- Receive boot completed: used to restore scheduled reminders after your device restarts, if reminders are enabled.
The App does not request camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call log, or precise location permissions.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services that may collect, process, or share information under their own privacy policies:

- Google Play Billing: used to process in-app purchases and restore purchase entitlement.
- Google Play / In-App Review: used when you choose to rate or review the App.
- Google Fonts or other Google-hosted resources: may be used by the App framework or libraries to display fonts or resources, depending on app configuration and device cache.
We are responsible for choosing the third-party services included in the App, but those services process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
5. How We Use Information
We and our service providers use information for the following purposes:
- To provide core App features such as sound playback, mixing, sleep timers, favorites, sleep entries, reminders, and settings.
- To remember your preferences and restore your App state.
- To provide premium access, ad-free status, rewarded ad unlocks, and purchase restoration.
- To show ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, improve ad services, and comply with advertising rules.
- To respond to support requests or privacy questions you send to us.
- To comply with legal, policy, and platform requirements.
6. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send your locally stored favorite mixes, sleep entries, sound selections, timer settings, or app preferences to an AppMaven Studio server.
Information may be shared in the following situations:
- With Google and its partners through Google AdMob and Google Mobile Ads SDK for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service operation.
- With Google Play services when you make or restore a purchase, rate the App, or interact with Google Play features.
- With your chosen email, sharing, or browser app when you choose to contact us, share the App, or open an external link.
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the integrity of the App.
7. Your Choices and Controls
- Advertising consent: where available or required, you can manage your ad consent choices through the Google consent message or privacy options shown in the App.
- Ad personalization: you can reset or delete your Android advertising ID and manage ad personalization in your Android or Google settings.
- Notifications: you can allow or deny notification permission and change notification settings in the App or in your Android system settings.
- Local App data: you can delete App data from inside the App where this feature is available, clear App storage through Android settings, or uninstall the App.
- Sleep entries and favorites: sleep entries and favorite mixes are stored locally and can be removed by deleting App data or using in-app delete controls where available.
- Support emails: you can contact us to request deletion of support emails or ask privacy-related questions.
8. Data Retention
Local App data remains on your device until you delete it, clear App storage, or uninstall the App. Temporary rewarded unlocks are stored locally and expire automatically based on the unlock duration. Purchase entitlement may remain recorded locally so the App can provide premium access.
Support emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request, maintain records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Data processed by Google or other third-party services is retained according to those providers' own policies.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 years old or to children under the applicable age of consent in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International Data Transfers
The App is published globally. Third-party services such as Google may process information on servers located in different countries. Where applicable, those providers are responsible for using appropriate safeguards for international transfers under their own policies and legal commitments.
11. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. Local App data is stored using the device's app storage area, which is managed by the operating system. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. No Medical Advice
The App is intended for relaxation, sleep support, white noise, sound mixing, and breathing exercises. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means that you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
