Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to QRCreator ("we," "our," or "app"). At QRCreator, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the QRCreator app.

By downloading, accessing, or using QRCreator, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

The following stays on your device only — we do not upload it to our servers:

  • QR Code Content: any text, URL, contact (vCard), Wi-Fi credentials, email, SMS, phone, location, or calendar-event data you input to generate QR codes.
  • QR Code Customization: colors, logos, and size settings you choose.
  • Saved QR Code Information: names and categories you assign to saved QR codes.
  • Passwords: If you password-protect a QR code, the password is used only on your device to encrypt and decrypt the QR content (AES encryption). We do NOT store or transmit your password. If you forget it, the encrypted content cannot be recovered.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use QRCreator, our third-party SDKs (see 2.3) may automatically collect:

  • Device and identifiers: device type, operating system version, an advertising identifier (Advertising ID), and IP address.
  • Diagnostics and usage: app-usage events, crash reports, and performance data.

2.3 Information Collected via Third-Party Services

We use the following Google services:

  • Google AdMob: displays advertisements. May collect device identifiers, Advertising ID, IP address, and ad-interaction data. Personalized advertising is used only where you have consented (see Section 6).
  • Google Firebase Analytics: collects pseudonymous app-usage and diagnostic data (such as an app-instance ID, feature usage, and session data) to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your real-world identity.

We do not use any other advertising or analytics networks.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the QRCreator app functionality.
  • Generate, store (locally), and manage QR codes as per your requests.
  • Offer QR code scanning and decoding features.
  • Improve and optimize the app's performance and user experience.
  • Display advertisements via Google AdMob.
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraudulent/invalid activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • QR code data (content, name, category, image files) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Automatic cloud backup of this app data is disabled.
  • Password-protected QR content is encrypted using AES (AES-GCM) with a key derived from your password. The password itself is never stored.
  • We rely on the security measures of the Google SDKs and your device. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Camera Permission

We request camera access solely to scan QR codes. Camera images are processed on your device to read the QR code and are not stored or transmitted by us. You can revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings.

6. Advertising and Consent

QRCreator displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we present a Google-certified consent request (Google User Messaging Platform) before serving personalized ads. You can review or change your choice at any time using the "Privacy options" item in the app's menu.

You can also limit ad tracking or reset your Advertising ID in your device settings.

For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Update: You can view, rename, and re-categorize your saved QR codes within the app at any time.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual saved QR codes, or clear all of them, from within the app.
  • Opt-out of Analytics / Ad personalization: Adjust your device settings to limit ad tracking or reset your Advertising ID; EEA/UK/CH users can withdraw consent via "Privacy options".

8. Children's Privacy

QRCreator is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to address it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Please review this policy periodically.
